Monsoon Park
Monsoon Park better known as the "Green Hole" was designed to be a retention pond for when the legendary monsoons hit our city. Because the hard clay dirt of Arizona doesn't absorb the water that precipitates during the monsoon season, flash floods are a real threat to our community. The Monsoon Park was created to retain the water that would normally flood the streets of the surrounding area. So, this pond retains the water and properly irrigates it out of the roads through the tunnels and drainage systems designed by the city. When it isn't raining, this is a wonderful park to play soccer, football, or have a nice picnic with plenty of wide open spaces!
