Saturday, March 12 at 10AM at the Drive-Thru shield at the Powerhouse Visitor Center (120 W. Andy Devine), a local brass quintet will be performing the Ukrainian National Anthem followed by the Star-Spangled Banner to show support to the Ukrainian people.

 

Members of the Route 66 Rotary Club will have a booth to collect donations for disaster relief  (https://my.rotary.org/en/disaster-response-fund) and shelter boxes (https://rotary.org/en/shelterbox-and-rotary-help-disasters).  Route 66 Rotary Club has participated in the Open World Program, where delegates are hosted in homes of Rotarians in different countries. The program began after the collapse of the Soviet Union as an effort to exchange cultures and learn similarities and differences in specific fields of business as well as share social time together.

The public is encouraged to attend and show their support by wearing blue and yellow, bring signs, banners and flags.

Projects : preenting dictionries annually to third grade students through-out the
Kingman Univied School District, award Micro Grants to area teachers,
Rotary Readers in which a Rotary member spends a half hour weekly
with a third grade student who needs improvement in reading skills, 
annual scholarships, city youth basketball, Rotary Youth Leadership
Awards (RYLA), interact, Peace Builder Club,
Shelter Box and Open World.
 
 
FUNDRAISING
 
To raise funds for these and other projects, the club holds 2 major fundraisers annually: 
Kingman Festival of the Arts, held Mother's Day weekend at Metcalf Park and Beer & Brats Oktoberfest,held the first Friday & Saturday in October in Metcalf Park.

We will continue to hold Hybrid meetings.
This means some members meet in person and some join the meeting via zoom.
We also meet one Friday a month at Metcalfe Park for cleanup.
