Camp Beale Loop

Experience this 3.2-mile loop trail near Kingman, Arizona. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 31 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

The loop takes it's name from the historic site down on the flat below the trail, where an early camp and cavalry barracks (Fort Beale) once stood. If you'd like a scenic walk in the hills, this 3.2-mile loop trail of the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area will fill the bill.

Camp Beale Loop Traihead - This trailhead, managed by the City of Kingman, can be accessed by turning east on Fort Beale Drive off of U.S. Highway 93, about 1/2 mile north of the I-40 interchange in Kingman, AZ. Drive 1.2 miles north and east on Fort Beale Drive to a paved road on your left marked 'Camp Beale loop Trail'. Follow this road up the hill for a short distance to trailhead parking.

The trail climbs gently up a ridge from 3,640 feet to a well-deserved rest bench 460 hundred feet higher at the top, then returns a different way. Panoramas take in Kingman, the Hualapai Mountains, and surrounding valleys and hills.
