The Vietnam Veterans of America Mohave County Chapter 975 strives to help veterans and make their lives better. Over time we have prevented suicide by  veterans in distress, put veterans back in their homes when equipment on the property failed and the home was condemned. We also help many veterans  needing financial assistance for many different reasons. We participate in parades to bring awareness to our activities, and attend many government and  community meetings. We raise funds through raffles of items donated or purchased, and yard sales with donated items.

The organization’s motto is “Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.”

We returned home after answering the call of duty from our country. Many of us found that we were not welcomed as our fathers and grandfathers were. A few carry baggage that is still with us today. Physical and mental wounds and the pain and suffering caused by war remain with some of us. There are gaps in the systems designed to help heal these wounds. This is where the VVA seeks to smooth the way. You are invited to join us and help us assist those who require assistance. As many of us reach retirement age and we look back on our life, now is the time to stay active. You can do so applying for membership and volunteering whatever skills, time, or money you are able to use to help others. With the VVA and AVVA, you can pitch in with family and friends and make a difference in the quality of life of all veterans. Come join us. If you do not meet the requirements for membership in the VVA, you can look to the Associates of the Vietnam Veterans of America as a way to join our cause. The AVVA is an active organization in and of itself. Sincerely, Dorn “Pat” Farrell, Past President
